NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK
LAUREN FLESHMAN: I don't even know how to put it into words. That was definitely the hardest thing I've ever done. All I kept thinking during the last six miles was I cannot believe hundreds of thousands of millions of people who have done this and continue to sign up for it. But you just don't think your legs can go any further, and they somehow manage to do it. Like your body has a will of its own.
That was a humbling and eye-opening experience. I just feel honored to be a marathoner now.
Q. Where are you from?
LAUREN FLESHMAN: California, canyon country.
