6-4, 7-5
Q. Tell me a little bit about this amazing victory, what you're feeling right now, and how you felt during the match.
CHRISTINA McHALE: Um, yeah, I mean, I'm so excited to have a win like this. It's still sinking in. Hasn't really registered yet.
But, yeah, it's huge for me. I'm just really excited.
Q. How did you feel walking onto the court? Playing in your home country, I know you love playing here, getting wildcard, talk about your thoughts coming into the match.
CHRISTINA McHALE: Well, definitely excited to play her, and I was excited too to be here in the States. I knew the crowd would help me a little bit.
So I felt good, but I was just going to try to take each point at a time and not get too focused on who I was playing or the moment or anything.
Q. What do you feel was the key to the match? What do you feel like really worked? What brought you out on top?
CHRISTINA McHALE: I think my like forehand, worked. Obviously I think that helped me win some points, and then I think I needed like to serve well at the end. I did, so I think I that helped.
Q. And now you play doubles?
CHRISTINA McHALE: Yeah.
Q. Are you ready?
CHRISTINA McHALE: I have no choice. I have to be ready. So, yeah.
