THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. What were your expectations? Did you expect to win the tournament when you started?
TIAGO FERNANDES: Actually, yes, when we work, the weekend before, I was thinking in the final and to be, you know, the champion.
But it's a Grand Slam and I'm really happy to be the champion.
Q. How thrilled are you at winning the Australian junior title?
TIAGO FERNANDES: I'm really happy. It was unbelievable week. All the players play really good. But this week I could play better. I just want enjoy this moment.
Next week I have to practice more.
Q. Why do you think you won? How were you a little better than the Australian boy?
TIAGO FERNANDES: I think it was maybe he was a little bit nervous to play, you know, the final with the Australian people. But I think the guy is really good. Maybe just this match he couldn't play the best. But maybe in the future he can play a very good tennis.
Q. Gustavo Kuerten was your idol?
TIAGO FERNANDES: For sure, yes.
Q. What made him your idol?
TIAGO FERNANDES: He's unbelievable guy - out of the court, inside the court. He helps me with the practicing with Larri Passos. He plays unbelievable.
Q. Is this your favorite surface, hard court, or is clay your favorite surface?
TIAGO FERNANDES: I like them both. Hard court and clay is good for me.
Q. What are your ambitions this year? Do you have any goals or ambitions for this year?
TIAGO FERNANDES: Going to try to mix the junior tournaments with some professional tournaments. So I'm going to try to play the other Grand Slams and some futures and challengers.
