HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND
PAM WARNER: Birdie, thanks for coming in and joining us today. Great round out there. You're currently tied for the lead. Just talk about how you played.
BIRDIE KIM: I'm playing very steady today. Just hit the fairways, make the greens and just make the birdies and make an easy par. The first 18, I just played easy golf today.
PAM WARNER: You hit it close on 9 to finish your round with a birdie. Just talk about that hole.
BIRDIE KIM: 9, I hit a good drive and I hit a good three rescue.
PAM WARNER: How close would you say?
BIRDIE KIM: It was two feet.
PAM WARNER: Let's go over your scorecard.
BIRDIE KIM: I had a birdie on 13. I hit a 4-iron to 1 1/2 feet.
My second birdie was hole No. 16. I hit 8-iron to three yards.
17, I hit 7-iron to 12 yards.
18, I hit 8-iron and my putt was three yards.
I made one bogey on hole No. 4. I made a 3-putt.
PAM WARNER: How long would you say your first putt was?
BIRDIE KIM: 20 yards, pretty long.
And my other birdie was hole No. 8. I hit 2-iron, three rescue and 2-putt.
Q. How did you find the conditions out there today?
BIRDIE KIM: I played with Angela Park and she give me good line or something; it make me better to putt.
Q. How have you been playing lately?
BIRDIE KIM: I started to play a lot better than last year. I made the cut better. I made money better.
Q. Are you getting impatient? You haven't won since the 2005 U.S. Women's Open. Is it frustrating that you haven't been able to win again?
BIRDIE KIM: Not right now. Last year, past.
Q. Do you feel you're closer now to getting that win?
BIRDIE KIM: Yes.
PAM WARNER: Thank you very much.
