ST. JAMES, BARBADOS: First Round
Q. Same name, Romero but much younger, good partner, first time you have not played with Eduardo; is that right?
ANGEL CABRERA: I played with Gonzalez last year and 1998. He's a good boy.
Q. A lot of talent and golf potential?
ANGEL CABRERA: Absolutely.
Q. What about today then? You made a lot of birdies on the back nine?
ANGEL CABRERA: We didn't play well the first nine holes and thank goodness he played well on the back nine holes. And then on the other back nine I played, and we combined.
Q. Who was making all the birdies?
ANGEL CABRERA: I made four birdies.
Q. That's good, in this weather. So I remember the first World Cup, you were so close to winning with Eduardo, is this a big ambition to win?
ANGEL CABRERA: Yes, always, always. It's one objective that I have not achieved in my career and I want to finish it in this tournament.
Q. And I see, just like Bernhard Langer, this is your son?
ANGEL CABRERA: Yes, this is Angel.
Q. How old is he?
ANGEL CABRERA: 15.
Q. What does your other son, Federico, play off?
ANGEL CABRERA: Zero.
Q. It's nice to have the calmly with you?
ANGEL CABRERA: Yes, very good, especially in this tournament.
Q. And Andres, did you enjoy your experience?
ANDRES ROMERO: The first hole we made a bogey from 110 yards. But luckily Angel made a birdie on the second hole, and in the end it was like, wow. Now I'm more quiet, relaxed. In the end I started to feel good.
Q. Can you see why Angel is such a good player and won so many titles?
ANDRES ROMERO: He's a very recognised player and he showed it in the back nine. Well, he made three birdies in a row and then he made a birdie. Well, that was very important for him to have confidence in his game.
