ST. ANDREWS, SCOTLAND: Pre-Round

ERNIE ELS: I am feeling good and if the weather stays like this it could be a nice week. It is good to be back. I had a pretty nice week last week working on a couple of things so just keep going. I have got just a couple of tournaments left till the end of the year and I have just got to build for next year basically.

Q. What have you been working on?

ERNIE ELS: I found something in my swing. I worked with a good friend of mine a couple of weeks ago and he found something in the swing. I went with it last week and it went great. I have just got to hole some more putts. The all over package is getting more me. That's what I am trying to get back to, to play like I play. It is taking a bit of time but that is what I am working on.

Q. This would be a good place for a big week?

ERNIE ELS: I have come close twice. Westwood beat me and then Paul Lawrie put that long putt in on the first tournament. I have always loved links golf and will give it another go. I love it. These are three great courses and I hear Carnoustie is in great shape. I played St Andrews yesterday and will play nine holes here. They are a bit soft. I don't think I have ever seen them this soft. That is going to help scoring but you still have to keep it in play and keep it out of the bunkers.

Q. New partner this year?

ERNIE ELS: I am playing with Mr Rupert. My Dad couldn't make it this trip. So, new partner. I have had a good partner for the last couple of seasons for him to live up to.
