ELMONT, NEW YORK
ERIC WING: Okay, before we bring in the winning connections of Pleasant Home, we are joined by Edgar Prado, who finally has his first break, so to speak of the day. Only race he's not riding the turf. Edgar was winless coming into today in Breeder's Cup competition, not one but two, first with Folklore and then with Silver Train. Edgar, congratulations. Let's go in chronological order with Folklore. She looked like she might be the best fillie coming in. She got arguably disadvantageous post and pushed through some pretty fast fractions by Knights Templar. She proved she was best today. Was there -- did she feel like a winner every step to you?
EDGAR PRADO: Real win. She was about a month off. She handled the track well last time she run here. When she come out of the gate, she come so fast out of the gate, I took advantage of that and try to get a good position, and after that I give her a little breathe in the backside. Let her relax, and see what other horse is coming and see what happens when back again they were off again.
ERIC WING: With Silver Train look like you got him in a beautiful position just off a four-way speed dual, you had just enough left in the stretch to hold off taste of Paradise. Were you confident you were going to hold off the closers down in the end of the sprint?
EDGAR PRADO: Well, definitely have a nice trip, nice and clean and I was behind horse fighting for the lead. I don't know if it was very comfortable. Confident to hold down the horse that was coming very fast.
ERIC WING: Did you look at the head on replay of this sprint? Did you think there was any reason for a foul claim?
EDGAR PRADO: I was pretty straight. You can see in the replay. You see the horse lift a little bit.
ERIC WING: You would have been furious if they had taken you down.
EDGAR PRADO: Absolutely.
ERIC WING: Edgar, unfortunately, the emotions of this game go up and down like a roller coater. You were aboard Fun Fair, who we understand has already been euthanized. Could you describe what happened when you were aboard him in the mile.?
EDGAR PRADO: Unfortunately, part of this game, you know, part of this game, I never thought that the horse something that could have happened to this horse. He was training well and he was going very well to this race. That's racing luck and it happened. And I was very broken hearted. The show had to keep going, had to ride more races coming up.
ERIC WING: How tough is it to put something like that behind you and get your game face back on essentially 30 minutes later?
EDGAR PRADO: I will put it behind right now. Once I go home, I start thinking about it. Definitely it's going to get more emotional. A nice horse. We win a race together. Especially being a rider, I'm a horse lover.
ERIC WING: What was your level of frustration having ridden in so many Breeder's Cup races prior to today and not winning any?
EDGAR PRADO: Well, I was looking forward to next year coming up, trying real hard to find the right horses and be able to ride in this year. But I was lucky to get it done this year.
ERIC WING: Fun Fair, did you have to yell to the other riders? Were you in danger? Were there any other riders in danger?
EDGAR PRADO: No. That's such good riders in Breeder's Cup. They know where they are and what they're doing during the race. They put like attention. This horse something was wrong with the horse, everybody tried to get out of the way.
ERIC WING: The question was, did Edgar have to yell when Fun Fair was starting to have difficulty? Edgar, we want to let you get back so you can prepare for the Classic. Congratulations on both of your victories today and may there be many more 20 come.
EDGAR PRADO: Thank you very much.
