ERIC WING: Before we meet the winning connections of Cajun Beat, we're joined by Dr. C. Wayne McIlwrait, the on-call veterinarian with the American Association of Equine Practitioners, to give us a report on Ethan Man, who was vanned off in the Breeders' Cup Sprint. Wayne.
DR. C. WAYNE MCILWRAIT: Thank you. Yes, Ethan Man was taken off in the ambulance because the veterinarians at the ambulance noticed that he was off in his left front leg. On examination he's got swelling in the suspensory ligament. That's a relatively minor injury. But the best thing was to take him back to the barn.
ERIC WING: Wayne, thanks very much for that up date. We appreciate it as always. And Wayne's last name for those of you. M C I L W R A I T.
BREEDERS' CUP FILLY & MARE TURF
Dr. C. Wayne McIlwrait
ERIC WING: Okay. We're back in the interview room and before we get to the winners, we're joined again by C. Wayne McIlwrait, who will give us a report on Tates Creek, who was vanned off following the Breeders' Cup filly and Mare Turf.
DR. McILWRAIT: Again, good afternoon. The jockey didn't feel comfortable with Tates Creek, and he got off. And so he's been examined by the veterinary crew and no injuries have been found. But they have taken him back in the ambulance for safety's sake. But he has no palpable injury. Just the jockey did not feel that he was okay.
ERIC WING: Well, Wayne, thank you again for your updates.
