NHL ENTRY DRAFTJune 22, 2002Petr TaticekTORONTO, ONTARIO Q. Peter, how do you feel about being selected by Florida? They paid you a compliment when they said that after you they felt there was a drop-off for next person in the (inaudible)? PETR TATICEK: I was happy. It's unbelievable, perfect, to be drafted by this team. Q. Why when did you come over from the Czech Republic? When did you come over, and how did you find the adjustment to living in North America? PETR TATICEK: I just wanted to try to play hockey in North America, so I went to Sault Ste. Marie to play. And is know how the hockey is out here, and I wanted to play in Canada; not American hockey. Q. Are you familiar with Mike Keenan, and you say it's great to be drafted by Florida, is there a reason? PETR TATICEK: Yeah, I met him two times. They are very nice people. I hope they are going to help me to be a better hockey player and help play on this team and be part of the team. Q. Did you speak English before this year? PETR TATICEK: Before I came to Canada, my English was nothing. They spent lots of time with me, teaching me English. Q. Can you tell us what you know about Florida and how difficult it will be to make the team? PETR TATICEK: I know nothing about Florida. I just know it's warm over there. (Laughs). It's a great team. That's the only thing I know. Q. Do you know any of the players on the Panthers; they have a lot of young guys? PETR TATICEK: Oh, sure I know some players, like Krajicek, Jay Bouwmeester. (Laughs).
