Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Aza after her second round of the Ford Championship. 6-under today. Just talk about what went well for you.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: I guess everything. I hit many more fairways than yesterday which made my life much easier, and then I hit quite a few nice approach to the greens, give myself quite a few chances, and I made some really nice putts, too.
So I guess everything was working.
Q. Talk a little bit about your back nine or the back nine. Just there was a lot of birdies.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah.
Q. No bogeys; couple pars.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah.
Q. Anything about some of those holes for you?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: It was just one of those days that everything is easy, no? Nice drive down the middle, hit to 10, 15 feet, make the putt. One par-5 I just two-putted for birdie, but for the most part made some nice putts.
On the first one made a 25-footer to start the day, so that was really nice. The other ones were probably about that 8, 10 feet, but those are not a gimme either so I just rolled it really nicely.
Q. Great round today.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Thank you.
Q. I talked to Missy Farr-Kaye at ASU yesterday and she mentioned you and a lot of her former players are like family. Talk about that ASU dynamic and being a part of that family.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah, it's such an amazing university, and the four years I had here were like amazing. I couldn't have gone to a better place. We had amazing coaches. Missy and I are super close and that always helps a lot.
I just love coming here. It is not where I live but it's like my second home. As soon as I land here I just feel home.
Q. Have you had a lot of time to talk to Anna about her Solheim Cup captaincy?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Not much. We texted a little bit, you know, to say congrats or whatever. Then we were in China a couple weeks ago and all I said is, I hope it's everything you hope it is.
Obviously it's such an honor, which is amazing, but it's going to be pretty stressful, so I just hope she really enjoys it. She's so organized and so on top of things that I'm sure she's going to do amazing.
Q. When you think back to your time at ASU, what do you remember most?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Going out. (Laughter.) No. Like everything. I think I got really lucky. All the girls in the girls' team got along really great, and with the guys as well. So I just remember sometimes we wouldn't go out out. We would go to a house party just with us. It was just really fun. We won a lot of tournaments my last couple years, which always helps.
So just having fun. You know, practice was always amazing.
Q. And I always like to when I see you ask about the little one and see how he is doing and how it's been being and LPGA mom.
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah, it's amazing. Like I've enjoyed every stage, but now he turned three almost a month ago now and it's so fun. You can have full on conversations, like kind of play sports with him. I don't know why he has such a cheeky personality because both my husband and I are like on the quieter side and he's not at all.
He's full on, full personality and he's pretty awesome.
Q. One other question. You were at Q-Series. How are you approaching this season?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah, I wasn't sure what I was going do. Eventually I decided to go give it one more go. I'm glad I did, you know. I still feel like I have some golf left in me.
I can promise you that's the last time I go to Q-School. If I have to ever go back that's it for me. It's a very stressful week.
But I'm glad I did and proved to myself that I really wanted it. But, yeah, I hope that's it. Done.
But, yeah, so approaching the season, I don't know how much time I have left, hopefully two more years, but for sure the time I have left I want to enjoy it.
That's how I'm approaching the season.
