Quick Quotes
Q. 67 to close solid week overall. How would you assess the day?
BILLY HORSCHEL: Good week. Listen, came into this week, game sort of been -- haven't done anything special. I haven't played great, I haven't played bad, it's just sort of been treading water. I sort of felt closer to playing good golf than bad golf, but mentally I had to do a better job of committing to shots and focusing in on what I want to do and not worry about of a bad shot happens. Technically, a couple things that Todd Anderson and I have been working on we're a little bit closer to. Needed some momentum to go into the Masters, needed to see some quality shots, and I saw that this week. And, yeah, a little disappointed today. I feel like last couple days could have been a little bit lower, just burned a lot of edges, but overall it's solid week of work.
Q. Got to ask about the lefty shot. Could you go through that and just what you saw there?
BILLY HORSCHEL: Yeah, we were laying up with a 3-iron and I just sort of just didn't really cut it. We thought I thought the wind was off the left and at that point it sort of switched for a second off the right and blew it towards the tree. There was no way to hit it but lefty and, yeah, I mean, I grabbed a 9-iron hoping it wouldn't go too far and I was just hoping to get it up in the air and go straight. The funny thing was my little boy was about 50 yards it in front of me just to the left on the cart path sitting down, and I had to yell at him to sort of get out of the way because I didn't know exactly where this thing could go. Last thing I need to do is call my wife and tell her I just hit my son with a golf ball. But, yeah, listen, it was a hit and hope shot and I pulled it off and to make the putt sort of was with just sort of, yeah, I mean, funny things happen like that.
Q. Do you practice that shot ever?
BILLY HORSCHEL: No. I mean, very rarely do I hit a shot lefty. I think I hit one somewhere recently, but, yeah, I don't hit it very often.
Q. Full swing recently or chip out?
BILLY HORSCHEL: Full swing.
Q. Justin is 7-under today, you play with him on Atlanta Drive, what gives him that firepower from your vantage to get into that gear?
BILLY HORSCHEL: J.T. just is a really aggressive player, he's always pushing the pedal down, always trying to hit the great golf shot. He's an unbelievable iron player and when his iron play's on, which it's very rarely off, it's scary good. And then if the putter gets warm he's doing what he did today and that's, what, is he 13-under par on the weekend? That's pretty impressive stuff here at Innisbrook. So listen, he plays with an aggressive mindset, always trying to hit the great golf shot and not shocked to see him doing what he did. I knew playing yesterday the way he did he found something and he was going to carry it on to today. So, yeah, it's good to see him playing well and hopefully he can pull it off and take some of that good golf to next couple days to TGL.
