VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP

March 22, 2025

Jeremy Paul

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA

Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

Quick Quotes

Q. Could you talk through the round, seemed like it was getting pretty tough out there. How would you describe it?

JEREMY PAUL: Yeah, got off to a good start. Hit the ball really solid. In the middle stretch kind of missed a few putts, made a few bogeys. It happens so quickly out here, you don't need to be far off with one iron shot or just a drive slightly in the rough and then you're behind and trying to scramble for par.

On the back nine, it played a little tougher, I feel like the wind was there, the greens were kind of getting crispy, so I didn't really have that many looks any more on the back nine. But overall I'm pleased with how it went today. I really enjoyed playing with Xander today, it's my first time, so it was awesome, really enjoyed it.

Q. The leaders aren't getting too far away, you're right in the mix, what's the mindset going into tomorrow?

JEREMY PAUL: The leaderboard is stacked. There's probably feels like 25 guys that can -- 30 guys maybe that can still win this golf tournament. So trying to put a good round together and see where it puts me. It's tough to really, you know, I mean, here it's so easy, you can make a few birdies if you hit good tee shots, but once you get off line, it's very easy to collect a few bogeys. So mindset is basically the same for tomorrow, just trying to put a lot of good swings on and we'll see where it takes me at the end.

Q. How nice is it during a rookie season to have yourself in contention more or less earlier in the year and an opportunity to rack up some valuable points?

JEREMY PAUL: Yeah, it's a great opportunity. I was actually really excited when I looked at the leaderboard yesterday that I was maybe going to play with Xander. It's really good as a rookie to get exposure like that, put yourself in the mix, play with superstars of the game, so I was really excited just to get that experience. And I feel like over long-term the more you put yourself out there the better you're going to perform, so overall I was very pleased.
