THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 16, 2025

Danny Walker

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you characterize your day today?

DANNY WALKER: Exciting, I think, would be the simplest way to characterize it. It was a lot of fun. That's the position you want to be in, just having a chance to win a big event like this. Had a lot of fun. Overall I think played well and handled it well. No regrets out there for sure.

Q. Any surprise how well you did handle the pressure out there from the start, from Thursday all the way through how you played today?

DANNY WALKER: I wouldn't say so, no. I feel like my mental game is pretty good. I had a little bit of exposure to that at Farmers on Saturday playing in the last group with Ludvig. I think that kind of helped prepare me for this week a little bit. I felt a little bit more comfortable with that whole atmosphere.

Q. Did you get the sense that people were figuring out your story locally as you made it around the last couple days?

DANNY WALKER: Yeah, for sure. Definitely a lot of the comments out there, I could tell, yeah. Which is cool.

Q. (Indiscernible) on purpose?

DANNY WALKER: No, but it was strikingly similar to the Jaguars' colors, so yeah, it's a good coincidence.

Q. How surreal is it, the whole week?

DANNY WALKER: Very. I don't know how else to say it, but yeah, surreal is a good word.

Q. I think you're going to cash in for more than your career earnings.

DANNY WALKER: I would think so, yeah, which is nice (smiling).

Q. How significant is that?

DANNY WALKER: A lot. Not even a year and a half ago, I had little to no money in my bank account. It's a big change.

Q. Do you start thinking about -- obviously you want to win the golf tournament, but do you start thinking about that, as well, don't take too many risks or lose too much of that?

DANNY WALKER: I mean, I knew I had a chance to for sure. I don't think I took less risk because of it. You're not going to win not taking some risks.

I don't think I changed the way I played at all.

Q. You mentioned that you played out here in December and you made a comment (indiscernible) throughout the week. Do you recall that comment?

DANNY WALKER: I recall him reminding me of it. I don't actually remember the moment. I guess there was a time a few months ago where I was just telling him how much I wanted to get in this tournament this year. I didn't even say have a chance to win the tournament, I just said to get in. Yeah, it was cool just to play.

Q. What were the feelings, too, just seeing Jimmy standing out here watching? He's a good friend, I know, but compared to last year when you were watching him?

DANNY WALKER: Yeah, it was cool how that kind of flipped this year, and hopefully next year we're both in this scenario. We can watch each other in the same group on Sunday.

Q. How does this week change your life?

DANNY WALKER: Oh, gosh, I don't know yet. Hopefully not too much. My life is pretty good.
