THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Jason Kokrak from Smash GC. Jason, well played today, tied third at 8-under par after two rounds at LIV Golf Singapore presented by Aramco following a second round score of 5-under par 66. Talk us through your round today.
JASON KOKRAK: Yeah, pretty solid round. Just bogeyed the last. Kind of a little bit of a bail-out. Actually missed it right off the upslope on No. 1, the actual No. 1, not my first hole. But yeah, I played a really solid round, made some nice putts. A little bit more solid tee to green, and the putter is staying hot. Hopefully we can continue that.
Hit it a little closer with some of the wedge shots, but I'm very pleased with how I played today.
Q. You said up here on Wednesday you felt like your ball-striking was in a good place this week. You had it going yesterday apart from the one blemish on 15. How is the game feeling in general this week?
JASON KOKRAK: Well, before this week it was a little bit up and down, a little bit out of sorts, too far underneath the golf ball. But got a little bit more on top of it. I hit a lot of more flush iron shots, drove the ball pretty good.
I think my ball-striking is where I've always hung my hat on. I've always hit the ball really, really well, and the putter has kind of let me down. But this week the putter is staying hot, short game seems solid, and I'm looking forward to the big challenge it is tomorrow.
Q. Three behind JoaquĆn, and DJ obviously playing some great golf. What's your game plan going into tomorrow's final round?
JASON KOKRAK: Well, JoaquĆn Niemann is one of the best players in the world right now. DJ is a previous World No. 1, obviously a ton of talent. Definitely a long uphill battle. But I will say that I think my game suits this golf course tee to green. I think there's some tough pins out there tomorrow, so stay patient, rely on the putter, and give myself a lot of opportunities.
Q. What would it mean to you if you win on the final day?
JASON KOKRAK: Anytime I get myself in contention, give myself an opportunity to win, it's big. I haven't really played too well since I've been out here. The last year and a half, two years, the game hasn't been there.
But things turn around in a hurry with this game. Looking forward to the challenge tomorrow. Want to stay patient, give myself a lot of birdie opportunities, no stress, and we'll see where the cards fall tomorrow.
Q. Jason, is it good news that you're not going to finish on the 15th tomorrow?
JASON KOKRAK: Yes. I don't know why that hole -- I think I've been here a couple different times, but always that hole seems to be kind of off the right and helping or off the right and not really a 3-wood, so I can hit 3-wood out there short of the bunker and it's normally max an 8-iron, and today I hit it right on the upslope and kind of bailed out on a 6-iron, bailed out -- literally the same exact shot I had on No. 1 from the first cut.
It's not anything -- it's just another golf shot. It's just one that doesn't suit me off an up slope with water on the left, and bail out, everybody does it, and won't do it tomorrow.
Q. Obviously you've got two teammates that have already won here on this course. What would it mean to be No. 3, and do you guys -- because the team has strategy success here, do you talk strategy in terms of this is the way we won, or does that play into it at all?
JASON KOKRAK: Well, I think Brooks and I kind of hit the ball the game distance, but he plays generally a fade and I play generally a draw. We're not really always looking at holes the same way. He plays a little bit more aggressive than I do off the tee. Won't talk strategy or anything like that.
Probably will just kind of go to dinner together and same old stuff, kind of ground hog day tomorrow. We won't talk strategy or anything like that. But good vibes with two teammates that have already won here. I know the golf course well enough. I know what to do. It's just going out there and actually doing it.
