WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

March 8, 2025

Jeneath Wong

Pattaya, Thailand

Quick Quotes

Q. Jen, another really great round from you today. You've been very consistent all week. Was that a goal coming in, just to remain consistent?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, I think just minimizing bogeys is one of the main goals, and then just keeping it on the fairways and greens all week.

Q. Have you ever been in a position like this before, leading a tournament into the final round?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, a few, but it's been a while, so I think it's good for tomorrow.

Q. What's the preparation look like for you?

JENEATH WONG: I think just the same thing: go back being rest, and then just play tomorrow.

Q. Have you been too Vietnam before?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, I've been here twice for the Vietnam Amateur Open and the SEA Games.

Q. How did you go?

JENEATH WONG: Vietnam Amateur Open I came fifth, and then SEA Games I got individual bronze.

Q. Okay. So these conditions, temperature, all pretty familiar to you; does did that help this week?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah. Definitely, yes.

Q. And plan of attack for tomorrow? Got a little bumper heading into the final round. You looked like you were enjoying yourself out there.

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, it was really fun especially playing with Jazy. I've known her for a while so it's good.

Q. You're both Melbourne girls.

JENEATH WONG: Yeah.

Q. How long have you played with her?

JENEATH WONG: Like we started when we were ten. I mean, like we played tournaments together when we were ten years old and now we get to play together again.

Q. 3D golf, have you tried before? What's the advantage and disadvantage?

JENEATH WONG: Of 3D golf?

Q. Yeah.

JENEATH WONG: I've never heard of it.

Q. Do you mean like virtual?

JENEATH WONG: Oh, I think it's really cool, yeah, how you can bring the real life experience into just a simulator.

Q. How about the disadvantage?

JENEATH WONG: I think maybe like off the mats the wind is not really in play and knowing how much the balls spin really.

Q. Talk us through the last hole.

JENEATH WONG: Yeah.

Q. Bunker shot. Amazing shot.

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, I kind of hooked my 3-wood a little so caught the left bunker. I was just trying to get a good position so I could get like an uphill putt. Managed to come out better than I expected.

Q. Finally, how often do you go back to Malaysia?

JENEATH WONG: Not often, but I try like once a year.

Q. (Indiscernible.)

JENEATH WONG: No.

Q. Playing this year's SEA Games?

JENEATH WONG: Maybe. Just go check with my coach, yeah.
