WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

March 8, 2025

Eunseo Choi

Pattaya, Thailand

Quick Quotes

Q. Eunseo, another great round for you today; 4-under. Can you talk us through the round?

EUNSEO CHOI: The front nine was really good. Rather than my shots being good, I think it was my putting that really helped me. I sunk like a lot of long putts during the front nine, so that was really nice.

And back nine was pretty solid. Just kept getting pars. And then birdied the last hole; just got to 4-under.

Q. A bit of momentum heading into the final round. You're well in contention in the tournament. How will you prepare for tomorrow?

EUNSEO CHOI: I feel like it's just having fun out there because I really enjoyed my game today. I just hope to enjoy my game for tomorrow as well. I think one of the biggest things is getting your driver to go straight on the fairway. Just hit it on the fairway, get on the green, and it's like probably the best way to deal with this course.

Q. It's a simple game, really, isn't it?

EUNSEO CHOI: Yeah. Sounds simple; not really.

Q. Tell us a little bit about how you got started to play golf.

EUNSEO CHOI: My dad inspired me to start golf. I really enjoy kind of playing any other sports in general. I really enjoyed mini golf and he was like, oh, why don't you just play golf instead? I was like, yay, okay, and somehow ended up here.

Q. Mini golf might help with the putting tomorrow.

EUNSEO CHOI: Yeah, will be good.

Q. What age did you start playing competitively, really started to -- when did you join the Golf New Zealand program?

EUNSEO CHOI: I joined Golf New Zealand program when I was 16, so it is my third year, kind of fourth year joining the Golf New Zealand program now, yeah.

Q. How are you finding that? Obviously get opportunities like this; pretty special.

EUNSEO CHOI: I'm really honored and feel really blessed to be a part of the Golf New Zealand program. I kind of got in while Fiona Xu, who is currently on the LPGA, while she was on the team, so I really learned from her. And also Vivian Liu who is here with us during this tournament as well.
