Q. Arianna, you played this tournament a few times. Have you ever had a start as good as that?

ARIANNA LAU: Actually, no. Today was -- I didn't expect to go this low. I didn't really set any expectations like in terms of the score going into today, so I just tried to stay like patient and just trusted my game. Just played one shot by one shot and just turned out really good today.

Q. How did you find the conditions? A lot of the girls were saying it was really tough to deal with the wind this morning. Did you find it okay out there?

ARIANNA LAU: Yeah, the wind picked up, especially at the turn. The pins today were not bad. I was able to like use -- hit it to the right spots like on the greens, so that gave me a lot of birdie opportunities.

Q. And you played in a pretty hot group today as well; Lion had a great score. You guys find yourselves top of the leaderboard. When you're playing in a group that's scoring really well, is it just a momentum thing for you guys out there?

ARIANNA LAU: Yeah, it was such an honor to play with Lion and Soomin today. I learned so much from them. It was just really exciting, because like when playing in like such a strong group, it really keeps me going and gives me like more momentum.

So just makes you play better, so, yeah, I really enjoyed today.

Q. Can you just tell us a little bit about playing in the Patsy Hankins, how that helped you maybe grow your confidence to come into tournaments playing with all those great players, being part of a winning team?

ARIANNA LAU: Oh, yes, Patsy Hankins was really special because normally like all my teammates, we see each other all the time, and it was just really special to be able to be on the same team as them and play in like a match play, like a different kind of format.

It was a very tight and like competitive match. I just learned so much from them. Yeah, it was really special.

Q. And mum is caddieing today. Is she going to take credit for any of those birdies out there?

ARIANNA LAU: Oh, yes. I really enjoyed her being on the bag. She was like very positive and she just give me a lot of confidence. I hope we can keep going with the same mentality tomorrow.

Q. Does she help you read the greens or you do all of that yourself?

ARIANNA LAU: We work together. Yeah. Thank you.
