Q. Joined now by Gaby Lopez after her first round here at the Blue Bay LPGA. A lot of birdies on the card today. What worked so well for you?

GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, I think I found myself more comfortable or a couple holes. To be honest I'm a little tired from the last couple weeks being a little sick, so just trying to be as patient as I can and give myself as many birdie opportunities.

Yeah, just trying to be calm out there.

Q. Did you play here last year?

GABY LOPEZ: Yeah.

Q. So second time playing here since winning in 2018. How different of a person, golfer, course has it been for you?

GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, I mean, it's always nice to come to a place where you have great memories and your brain is switching for that window.

Yeah, I'm really happy. Very different from when I was 2018. I feel that I've matured a lot. I feel that I have been learning a lot about myself and I keep learning.

So, yeah, I mean, just it's been really exciting to see the process I've made.

Q. How does the game feel now a couple weeks into the season?

GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, it's feeling much better than last year this time of the year. I'm really happy with the team I've surrounded myself with. I've made a couple changes, and, yeah, I feel that the people around me are just as professional as I am, and they have helped me so much into just growing my confidence and kind of tighten up my skills.

Q. Last one: not a lot a lot of low scores on the leaderboard yet. What's going to be the goal or what's going to be the strategy to get low and stay low?

GABY LOPEZ: You just have to be on the right side of the greens. You got really, really slopey greens and you can get yourself in trouble even on the green, so being on the right side of the green and trying to attack the par-5s when you have a chance. They're gettable. You got to be patient on par-3s. They can get a little tough, especially into the wind.

Yeah, I think being aggressive when you can and be patient when you have to.
