Quick Quotes

Q. Second top 10 of the year. Can you talk about your defense ask the week in general?

HANNAH GREEN: I feel like I'm exhausted just from playing one week. Obviously it's always a big week defending but also in this climate it makes it a little bit more difficult. But I was grateful that I had some friends and a lot of support out there.

Today I didn't wake up feeling that great. So I did well to shoot under par. I definitely made the most out of my round. The putter was still really hot today. Happy to defend the title, and hopefully bring this form back to the States.

Q. You seem comfortable in the role of defending champion, which is nice to see. Is there anything you'll do differently for your next?

HANNAH GREEN: Well, all of the tournaments that I will be defending this year, I won't be playing the week before. So I think that just kind of works out luckily with the schedule. I think that will be easier for me to get into making sure that I'm not too tired come the end of the week.

And then also, I'm playing the weeks after those defences. I think because they are a bit later in the season, that also helps. I feel like it would be difficult if it were back-to-back, like for Nelly, playing her tournaments defending. I think it's good to have experienced Singapore. I think it might be one of the tougher ones to defend. Perhaps if it was an Australian in Australia, that would be different.

But yeah, it's been a lot of fun, and I've got to make sure I enjoy as well sometimes and not put too much pressure on myself.

Q. Sort of in general, you try to schedule yourself slightly different this year to previous years? You've obviously been out on tour to really get an idea.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I have to play in the U.S. this year just because we have a one in four rule. But I wanted to also see how my game was to get ready for Singapore. And unfortunately I didn't play Thailand, but it was an event that I do usually play and I enjoy playing.

Again, with this heat and the amount of media that I am doing, I just figured it was not going to be really that smart of an idea to play. I'm glad that I didn't play. I think I handled the media and everything well.

Like I said yesterday, the team make it really easy for me when I am here and that also helps. It's not like I don't know what to expect. Everything is organised. There's not anything that just randomly pops up that might take a bit of my time and drain me more than usual. It's been good.

Q. Obviously HSBC do an unbelievable job in branding. Was it nice seeing your face everywhere or were you flinching?

HANNAH GREEN: It was unusual. Even when I was defending in L.A. last year, I don't know what their budget is like for marketing, but I don't think my face was all over L.A.

To be all over here at the golf course was expected but to be all over around town was cool. Shannon Tan was driving on one of the freeways or motorways and showed me a center photo of one of the ads, and my face is huge.

But it's been a lot of fun. I think I have to enjoy it, and you know, hopefully continue to have success here in Singapore.

Q. And your profile is really high, at the party, everyone was wanting a selfie with you. It really is impactful winning here.

HANNAH GREEN: The fans here in Singapore; there are obviously a lot of people that fly in from all over the world as well. But the Australians, the fans love when we return to Singapore. It was a bit strange having everyone ask for a selfie, but I just embraced it.

Q. And the course is in excellent nick.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I think it shows about the scoring. Obviously Lydia is playing well. The scoring is a little higher than usual, but I think that's more fun than playing in tournaments where you're always having a shootout.

I think last week in Thailand, 28-under par won, which is a little hard to compete with. I always say when we come here, the tee boxes are like putting surfaces because they are so pure and the greens are always really good here. I think we got really lucky -- hope I'm not jinxing it now -- but for everyone to have not experienced any delays, as well. Singapore has really turned it on for us.
