Q. Here with Patty; defending this week. How excited are you for this week to happen?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I'm excited to be home and playing in front of family and home crowd. Yeah, just familiar things being familiar faces; comfortable.

Q. Yeah. It was a busy stretch there when you came into this tournament last year. Just what were the emotions that you remember starting the week last year?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I feel like last year I came on a heater a little bit just winning in Saudi, and just coming here like my game felt really good. Everything felt like it was at a right place.

So a little different. I feel like it's always different. You know, even like a week after it's just always a little different. Not everything is going to be the same.

This year I feel like I'm just focusing on what I've been working on and see how I can improve from there.

Q. And what were some of those things you did during the offseason to recharge your batteries? I saw some fun Instagram posts here and there.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I traveled a little bit. Spent time with loved ones and just see family. Yeah, just have a pretty good break with no golf clubs for like three weeks, four weeks I think.

It was much needed.

Q. Yeah. And you were just in the press conference with the other Thai players, especially the amateur. What, if any, advice would you have for her competing this week?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I feel like just have fun this week. I feel like just learn as much as you can and like just mainly just enjoy it, being here. I feel like it's a really good opportunity for her future.

Q. And this tournament obviously means a lot being back home as well. What's it like to see the fans and the support out here? There was a ton at the green last year when you won.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, it was incredible. Yeah, just the fans are amazing here. We always get the biggest crowds just supporting Thai players. It's nice to see because golf in Thailand is really growing. Yeah, like just every year we keep having more Thai players on Tour, like more Thai girls win, and it's just going to keep growing and growing, so that's a good thing.

Q. 2025, looking ahead, what are you looking forward to most with this season?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I don't know. Just really look forward to like just keep pushing myself. I feel like I'm 25. I feel more motivated than I've ever been on Tour just to work hard and keep pushing myself forward.

Regardless of the result, I feel like stepping away from this year would be like I could pat myself on the back and say, you did your best, you gave it your all.
