HONDA LPGA THAILAND

February 19, 2025

Celine Boutier

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Press Conference

CELINE BOUTIER: ... at the tournament. It's just amazing. We've have a lot of fans in the past and it keeps growing year after year. So supportive of everyone, of course especially of the Thai players, but it's been fun to be a part of and to see also a lot of also Thai players succeed and play well here.

I feel like it's always a good atmosphere and always positive. Yeah, always enjoy coming back.

Q. We just talked about it, but both of your parents are from Thailand. What do you enjoy most about being back and playing here? Anything you like to do or eat when you're here?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I do enjoy coming back here and getting some of the really authentic Thai food. I feel like it's always something I enjoy doing. I enjoy seeing a lot of family. Some family come and support, and I just feel like everyone here is so welcoming.

It really feels like second or third home for me, especially having a lot of fans with the tournament. It was nice to have support.

Q. And then one question about 2024. You had a very busy year. Couple runner-up finishes, Solheim Cup, played in the Olympics in your home country to name a few. How would you describe your 2024 season as a whole?

CELINE BOUTIER: It was very busy definitely. I feel like it was very rewarding and frustrating as well. I think it was some of the memories that I will have for the rest of my life especially the two highlights for me was Olympics at home and the Solheim Cup, which was so fun.

So I think it was very solid year for me, even though I didn't get any wins. I think it was a good year to build on. I feel like this year is definitely a lot less on the calendar, but still want to do well and I feel like it's going to be also solid year.

We have some good venues for the majors and tournaments in the regular schedule as well, so I feel like so it's also going to be a fun year. But it's definitely going to be different than last year.

Q. And you're coming off a top 10 finish at the Founders Cup. Talk about the key parts of your game you're focusing on this year in 2025.

CELINE BOUTIER: You know, be a little bit more consistent throughout the year. I feel like last year I had a pretty difficult first half, so hopefully this year, I mean, my (indiscernible) will be get some more solid weeks in the first half of the year, but right now I'm just currently working on my long game.

I've been struggling a bit the last couple weeks, so just trying to get that ready for tomorrow.

Q. Welcome back. You mentioned about your long game. Can you tell us specifically what you've been working on? And then more broadly, how much do you feel you can still improve as a golfer?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I've just been struggling a bit with my iron game and driving a little bit. Just my, you know, swing hasn't been pretty consistent and I need to find a little bit of range sessions and a lot of reps to be able to test it on the course, because it's not easy when you're making swing changes and then having to compete under pressure.

So I'm just trying to get the reps in right now and this week or in the next few weeks.

Q. And you feel you have a lot of room for improvement in your game?

CELINE BOUTIER: Currently, yes. I definitely feel like you can always improve. That's the frustrating part about golf in general, you just always want to do better. There is always something that can be better. So I feel like that's the nature of the game.

Personally right now, yeah, there is a lot of room for improvement.

Q. Can I also just ask you about Jeeno. You played with her a few times. What do you feel about her game and character and the pressure for her this week playing in front of her home fans and coming here off a win last week?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I think she's an incredible player, very talented, and so young still, so I I've been in awe of what she's been able to do and how she's performing on the golf course. She's extremely steady since she joined the Tour and she is very solid from tee to green.

I feel like she's able to be in contention every week, so I feel like that's something that's very special. Definitely feel like her personality also is very nice, very kind, very friendly and always joking around. She's a great player and great person.

And yes, there is pressure coming back to Thailand to play in front of her home crowd, but I feel like she's handled it pretty well in the past.

THE MODERATOR: All right, thank you so much, Celine, appreciate it.
