ALL-STAR GAME: SHAQ'S OGS VS. CHUCK'S GLOBAL STARS

February 16, 2025

Kevin Durant

San Francisco, California, USA

Shaq's OGs

Mixed Zone

Championship: Shaq's 41, Chuck's Global Stars 25

Q. What's your feeling of MVP for Steph Curry in San Francisco?

KEVIN DURANT: It was cool. The whole weekend the Bay Area came out and showed major love. It is always good to reunite with some of my former teammates, James, Kyrie, Steph. It was good to be on the floor with them. It was cool Steph got the MVP here at home.

Good weekend overall.

Q. Who is your favorite role player in the league?

KEVIN DURANT: I'm going to go with Ryan Dunn.

Q. What did you think of the format now that you've gone through it? What about Ryan Dunn?

KEVIN DURANT: The format I thought took some getting used to. Once we got into the flow of things, it was pretty good. The first game we played against the Rising Stars. I thought was pretty good, once we got in the flow of it.

I am glad Ryan got to play on Sunday night. It was something to aspire to be in. Sunday night is a special time. Those rookies that were on the floor tonight, they are looking at us as All-Stars. Get some inspiration, when they come back out there and play.

I am sure we'll get a few of those guys playing on Sunday as well, and Ryan has a chance.

Q. When you think of your days growing up in DC, what's the best lessons you got from playing basketball?

KEVIN DURANT: I think playing with a competitive spirit, no matter where you are, no matter who is on the floor, no matter what environment you're in. It is about putting your best foot forward and be the best you can be.

Q. One-on-one tournament at All-Star. Do you think guys would want that or too much on the line?

KEVIN DURANT: What's on the line?

Q. Guys' pride?

KEVIN DURANT: We got our pride on the line every night. Somebody gets dunked on or crossed up, it's going to be on House of Highlights. So I don't think that will be a reason why guys won't play.

I think it would be a solid idea. See what the format is it. It wouldn't be too bad. What the cash prize is (smiling).

Q. KD, you were in 15 All-Stars. How many more do you have left?

KEVIN DURANT: Hopefully ten more.

Q. Do you ever get tired of watching Steph pull up from half-court like that?

KEVIN DURANT: Do you?

Q. No.

KEVIN DURANT: Exactly.

Q. How was the trash talk between you and Ryan Dunn? The other day in the press conference you were trash talking. Was there some on the court today?

KEVIN DURANT: Nah, man. We tend to keep it focused on the task at hand. Ryan came out and hit the first three. I left him in the corner. I was thinking of saying something, but he was focused and locked in. He really wanted to go out there and prove himself, try to win for the rookie Rising Stars.

Any moment you see a rookie trying to put his best foot forward, you appreciate it.

Q. Playing with Steph, does the chemistry come right back?

KEVIN DURANT: It's so easy to play with Steph. He doesn't demand the ball. Doesn't have a demanding personality. Just plays within the flow of the game. Those are the types of players that are easy to play with.

Q. Did you feel some of that love out there from the fans?

KEVIN DURANT: I always feel the love from the fans in the Bay Area. I never thought for a second that I didn't get no love out here.

I heard people saying I might not feel that love, and I didn't know it was this much love. But everywhere I go around the world and country is Warriors fans. Of course I heard it, especially Oracle. That's my home.

A lot of great memories in the Bay Area. We have a tight relationship, the fans and myself.
