Kenny's Young Stars
Press Conference
Semifinals: Chuck's Global Stars 41, Kenny's Young Stars 32
Q. Jalen, first of all, what were your impressions of this new All-Star format that we had here today?
JALEN BRUNSON: I think it's interesting. It's different. The games are kind of short. I like the format. It's something new, something unique. Maybe just score to 50 maybe.
But it's interesting, something new like that. You never really know what to expect, but it was all right.
Q. Score-wise, they split up a 15-minute score, 30. Do you think 50 would have been enough? Is it 60? Usually All-Star Games go to like 180, 170, something like that.
JALEN BRUNSON: Well, it's also you're trying to -- might play two games, so you're trying to gauge what you're trying to get to, and then there's a break in between for one team, I guess.
It's unique. It's something different. I like how we're trying new things. But we'll see going forward.
Q. What did you make of team Kenny's overall roster construction? A lot of size and veterans on the other end.
JALEN BRUNSON: Yeah, he came in and said yeah, this is the young stars of the league. I didn't want to draft anyone over 25, and then everyone looked at me. Yeah, I'm 28, so I was like, ha!
But it's cool to be in a room with those guys with so much potential and a lot of basketball ahead of them. I'm always excited when I get to do stuff like this.
Q. In general this All-Star experience, for you, what is it like? I know the format is a little bit shorter and you don't get to be around guys as much, but what's the All-Star experience mean for you in general?
JALEN BRUNSON: It means a lot to me to have my family here, have my six-month-old here, seeing her every morning, just enjoying this experience. It was awesome. Just to have my family here, most importantly, is awesome.
