Pit Lane Interview
Q. Sheldon Creed comes home in the third spot. When you look back on that, maybe things you could have done differently, is there anything that jumps out at you?
SHELDON CREED: Yeah, I don't know. Getting control of the race, obviously. I mean, I tried. I tried to go by the 2 there with 15, 20 to go and got by him once and then got next to him another time and just didn't quite have the help out back that I needed.
But the RCR car was just really fast and he could rebound really quickly like as I'd go by him, he could rebound and go right back by me where it took me a couple laps to kind of think it out. Overall, I know we talked before, I would just go try to be aggressive and keep myself up front, and I thought we did all that well.
So just appreciative of everyone at Haas Factory team and Friends of Jaclyn. A really fast Ford Mustang Dark Horse tonight.
Q. It's different in Atlanta, but does what you learned and the approach you took today, do the mentalities apply to next week, too?
SHELDON CREED: Yeah, I think so. I think everyone is kind of catching on. If you marry yourself too much to your manufacturer cars or your teammates, you just get passed.
Just trying to change the approach a little bit with our teammates and attack more, and I think handling will be a little more of an issue where it's really not here, and yeah, just happy with another good start to a season and ready to get through Atlanta and get to real racetracks.
