Quick Quotes
Q. Buddy, run us through the final round there and how you feel.
BUDDY HIELD: Tough one. Bad start. It's all good, though. Bad start, though.
Q. Did you know going into that last round what you needed to do?
BUDDY HIELD: I didn't know what his score was at, so I couldn't figure out, like, what's my score. Tough one.
Q. 31 in your first round, though --
BUDDY HIELD: That's impressive. I think just going into the second -- yeah, had a bad start.
Q. How do you feel the vibes are this weekend at All-Star Weekend?
BUDDY HIELD: No, it was good, great vibes. All-Star Weekend is great, being able to compete. Fans love it, and it hasn’t been here in 25 years, so I'm glad to be part of it.
Q. What would you say is the most difficult part of being in the public eye as an NBA player?
BUDDY HIELD: Difficult part? That's a good question. There's a lot. Everybody thinks because -- they don't see us as regular human beings. They worry about our bank accounts we're making, that we shouldn't have feelings and stuff like that. They just attack you.
I think the betting has gotten out of control, too. Fans bet on you and come and attack you because you messed up because I didn't make two or three threes or I didn't make 15 points. They don't see us as human beings. That's one of them.
Q. Have you felt that shift with sports betting?
BUDDY HIELD: Yeah. I mean, like I don't care, but you go on social media, all you see is comments, so I turned my comments off so I block out the noise. But it's gotten annoying, though.
Q. I'm not sure if you got a chance to watch the Skills Challenge --
BUDDY HIELD: Yeah, I watched it, too.
Q. What did you think of Draymond and Moses, how they did tonight?
BUDDY HIELD: They did great. Just one pass, it could have gone either way.
Q. How did it feel like to participate in front of the home crowd here in the Bay Area?
BUDDY HIELD: It felt great. I'm just disappointed I lost.
Q. What's the excitement level when you get back for the second half of the season?
BUDDY HIELD: It's great. Just get everybody situated, and then we've got to make a run.
