Jin Young Ko

Bradenton, Florida, USA

Bradenton Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, I am here with our clubhouse leader, Jin Young Ko, after her second round, 63. I don't know if you know this, but this is the new course record here at Bradenton. How good did the day feel to you?

JIN YOUNG KO: Yeah, I didn't know I was shooting 8-under today. After I scoring and I checked my score, oh, my God, I shooting like 8-under. Was pretty good.

Yeah, I focused very well and I'm just trying to do my best. Like shot was very consistency from the tee, from the second.

But yeah, I had a lot of good birdie chance but I missed some putts, but still I played really nice. Really, yeah, fun to play with Nelly and Minjee of course. I'm looking forward on the weekend.

Q. I've heard from some people that the front nine is harder than the back nine. You made a lot of birdies on the front nine, so do you think that's true? What do you think of the front nine versus the back?

JIN YOUNG KO: I just haven't think about which course is easier, front nine or back nine. I think it's just like same golf course as last couple years and yesterday also.

I just try do my best and just hanging out with my caddie on the course. This is just little part of my life, so I don't care about the result. I'm just trying to think present and I just want to live, present also, and, yeah, that's it.

Q. Yeah. You and one other player, Angel, are the only players who have gone bogey-free this week. Does that feel like it's really hard to do on this course?

JIN YOUNG KO: Yeah. Yeah, I think so. I mean, if like -- I mean, yeah.

Q. You feel like it's easy to make a bogey on this course? You feel like it's easy to not make a bogey?

JIN YOUNG KO: Well, I mean, golf is hard, so if lose focus, can make bogey or double. So we needed to concentrate to the ball and one shot at a time, one putt at a time. It makes feel free, and yeah, that's it.

Q. Last question: Yesterday you told me this is your year. You win this every other year. Does that thought make you more comfortable out there? Are you feeling pressure to achieve that?

JIN YOUNG KO: No, I don't have any pressure from outside. I mean, I just want to be better than yesterday and that's why I'm here on LPGA Tour. All the good players are here from the world, and so, yeah, I have to be better than yesterday, yeah.
