Quick Quotes
Q. 4-under par, a round of 68. Just give us your reaction to that performance today.
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, I'm really happy with the way I played. I had a good front nine, and I've struggled on the front nine the last few days, so I was finally happy to have a good front nine. Managed to keep it together on the back.
Q. Talk us through that eagle that you made on the back nine.
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, it was really special. I hit a good drive, and then I hit 7-iron in. Had 200 yards, hit 7-iron in, and straight over the flag. I hit a really good shot that I was really happy to hit the green, and then luckily made a putt.
Q. How crucial do you think that birdie was at the last with Roelof making a double on 18 and you making birdie? There's now a clear gap between you both. Do you think that was a crucial moment in the championship?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, it helps, but there's still 18 holes to go.
Q. What will be the game plan tomorrow?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Just going to try and make a lot of pars, not too many mistakes, and yeah, a lot of pars.
Q. With that five-shot lead, do you think you can afford to be a bit more conservative, or will you still go out and play your natural game?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, I think I'll be a little bit conservative, but definitely not too much. Definitely still going to try and play my game.
Q. There's a lot on the line; obviously winning the championship would be a great thing, but also a spot into The Open Championship at Royal Portrush. Do you think about those things out on the course or do you keep that in the back of your mind?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, I try not to, but I'm sure it pops into everyone's minds every now and again. It's really great what the R&A is doing for South Africa. We really appreciate it.
Q. How excited would you be to lift that trophy tomorrow?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, I'd be really happy. I'm really looking forward to the round tomorrow.
