Quick Quotes
Q. Bryan, a 3-under par round today. Talk to us about how you're feeling about that round.
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, feel great. It's a privilege to play at Leopard Creek. Obviously with the R&A what they're doing for us, it's amazing.
But yeah, I played well on the front nine but I didn't score my absolute best, but luckily I was able to keep it together and made a couple birdies on the back.
Q. The start of the back nine, four birdies in a row. What happened that gave you that momentum? What clicked for you?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Well, as I said, I knew I was playing well, so luckily I just kept it going, hit a few good iron shots, hit them stiff. It was a great boost for the rest of the round, too.
Q. Finishing off with a birdie, as well, how satisfying was that?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, for sure. I knew I really wanted to make birdie to break 70 on the last, and it was great to hit a great drive and put it on the green and two-putt for birdie.
Q. Obviously still early in the championship, but how much confidence does that give you with the three rounds ahead?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, a lot of confidence. I'm really looking forward to it. Can't wait for the next few days. Hopefully I can hold steady, make a couple birdies and put together some good rounds.
Q. How testing are the conditions at Leopard Creek? Obviously it's a great venue but it's obviously hot out there. How do you cope with that?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, it is really tough, but luckily they provide a lot of water around the course. Obviously you've got to make use of that, just keep cool, eat a lot, and yeah, stay hydrated.
Q. What's the game plan for tomorrow?
BRYAN NEWMAN: Yeah, just going to try and do a similar thing, try and make a lot of pars, make a couple birdies. Really looking forward to it.
