7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Such an incredible match for you. What are your initial thoughts coming out of that match?
GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD: I mean, congratulations (smiling). It's not really the good word, but yeah, I mean, it was a long match. I have some good thing to learn about it, especially with serve/return the forehand side.
Yeah, it's always nice to play against such a good player. Gael did some amazing stuff. Sometimes on the bench I say to myself, He is not 38.
Yeah, it was a nice match, yeah, overall.
Q. It sounded like he surprised you with his age and he turned back the clock?
GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD: Yeah, physically I don't think he's 38 (laughing), but yeah, I mean, I'll have to be better on some part to win this kind of match. I'm still young. I still can learn some stuff. We will see in the future if I can improve those bad moments.
Q. Like you said, you are still young, and I know it's a hard question to answer after you've lost, but how do you feel being part of the new wave of French tennis?
GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD: It's good to have some friends over there. Yeah, Arthur, Ugo, we are leading the way, with Arthur Cazaux, some good players. I mean, we try our best to be at the top.
Yeah, we have at least more than ten years on the tour, so I think we're going to be a good generation.
