SONY OPEN IN HAWAII

January 12, 2025

Nick Taylor

Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

Waialae Country Club

TV

Q. Nick, you make that incredible eagle on the 72-hole, two birdies in the playoff. How would you describe the fight you had today?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it's a tough day. I was 1-over through 7 and not really thinking about winning. Got on a birdie streak there and then I missed two short putts on 15 and 16.

To be able to make eagle on 18 to have a chance, I really didn't -- I was a little down after the two missed putts. It was just tricky with the wind.

Yeah, I'm a bit stunned this worked out this way.

Q. Five-time winner on the PGA TOUR. Last three have been in a playoff. What do you bring to a playoff that may be different than regulation?

NICK TAYLOR: I don't know. I don't know. I didn't play 18 that second time exactly how I saw it. To be able to hit a nice pitch which I had earlier, and unfortunate for Nico to three-putt there and open the door for me.

I feel like I can rise to the occasion and it's pretty fun.

Q. Celebrating with your family here and I see the emotion coming out of you. What does this one mean?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it was a tough six, seven months. My wife and my family to be with me and support me and lift me up, this makes it all the sweeter.
