THE MODERATOR: Off to a good start. Just a few comments about what went well between y'all today.

MARK O'MEARA: Well, look, first of all, it's always a pleasure to play alongside my son, Shaun. I remember the days of playing with my father, and Shaun, you have been doing this since he was about 15 years old. So now he's 35.

We got off to a little bit of a slow start, and then we made a few birdies and we got it kind of rolling. Shaun hit some really good -- he drove it good all day long and hit some nice wedge shots, and I was able to make a couple putts. And Shaun made a nice putt on 15 which was big for us.

We're disappointed we didn't birdie the last hole, but you know, what we're at least in a position to have a chance if we play well tomorrow to maybe contend.

SHAUN O'MEARA: This is literally the week I look forward to every year because, you know, even playing competitive golf in junior and a as college player, you think you know. But until you see all the things that go into being a pro golfer, I think a lot of people don't realize how much work these guys do, you know.

And I don't get to see him as much because we live far away from each other. So four or five days of breakfast, golf, dinner, hanging out, texting, and like just working together to do something, is special for sure.

MARK O'MEARA: Yeah, it is. It's an awesome week. We love it. We always hope we get the invitation, that's for sure.

THE MODERATOR: Yesterday David Duval commented, he's like, Starting in December we start looking in the mail every day for that invite. With the contract extension, hopefully it will provide a lot more years for y'all to be together.

MARK O'MEARA: Certainly our thanks are to PNC and Ritz Carlton. It's an incredible event.

And like you said, all these pros that get the opportunity to play with their siblings, whether it's a son, daughter, father, whoever it may be. Yeah, it's top of our list.

And the fact that we get to come back here to Orlando this time of year; and Shaun played high school matches on this course when he was in high school. We have a lot of fond memories we're. We've come close.

Unfortunately we've never won the belt. We have some work cut out for us tomorrow. But again, we didn't shoot ourselves out of it today, and we give ourselves a chance for tomorrow.
