Quick Quotes
DAVID HORSEY: Great, yeah. Gives me playing opportunities at the end of the day. Obviously real good fields. Certain places I've played before; some I haven't. Just nice to play around the world.
Moving to Dubai in January as well.
Q. You are?
DAVID HORSEY: Yes. So that will make it a little bit easier to play them as well. So, yeah, so fall into place hopefully.
Q. What prompted that move?
DAVID HORSEY: A lot of reasons.
Q. Okay.
DAVID HORSEY: Weather. Politics.
Q. Understood.
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah. I've got two young kids, three and two, and another one on the way. Now is the time if we're moving to do it.
Q. So when was it on your mind today? Lee is pulling away, so was there a point like, all right, I just need to make sure I finish in the top 10?
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah, just playing really. I was trying to just focus on myself. It's so easy to get so distracted by what's going on around you. Doesn't help. I don't think it helps me in any way.
So just keep focused, make birdies when I could. Missed a short one on 15 which was frustrating. Good putt.
Then made a good par save on 16.
And then actually thought I was probably slightly better than that. I thought it was quite tough there today. It was quite windy. Few holes played strong; greens were getting quick.
And then obviously saw I was I think tied 10th or 9th at that time. Yeah, wanted to try and birdie the last. Gave myself a good look at a birdie there and didn't quite make that. Again, hit a good putt, so pretty much did all I could there.
Q. Played all four rounds, right?
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah.
Q. Was there a point where it's like, I got to fight through the exhaustion?
DAVID HORSEY: It's been fine. 18 holes a day is fine. But today two balls makes it a little better because it's quicker.
But, yeah, I feel good to be honest. Don't feel too bad. So, yeah, no, I think today, because it was 36 holes, it sort of the felt a bit more like a marathon. Maybe wasn't quite as much intent over every hole.
Still just kept sort of focused on each hole, one hole at a time, the cliches. You know, yeah, nice to do pretty well to be honest. Didn't play quite as well today. Didn't quite hit it close enough, in the fairways first round this morning, and then really have to get it close.
And then, yeah, played pretty good. Scrambled a bit front nine. Got really tough there front nine. I thought that front nine was playing quite tough with the wind.
So scrambled well. And then played really solid coming in.
Q. Is it gratifying to accomplish a goal this week? I mean, you know, you come in, nobody really knows what to expect.
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah, yeah.
Q. But yet you're able to do something and get something out of to this week.
DAVID HORSEY: Absolutely, yeah. The goal is obviously to finish first, which is tough going when, what is this, 80 odd people.
So, you know, you're always trying to win, especially with what was on offer this week. But, yeah, top 10 is obviously a nice consolation to give me a bit more of a schedule next year.
Q. So you know where your first event will be in late January?
DAVID HORSEY: DLF I think it is, India.
Q. Yeah.
DAVID HORSEY: I think that falls nicely into my Challenge Tour schedule, too, hopefully I can match the two and.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
DAVID HORSEY: I'll try, yeah. Ten events isn't enough for a year unless I play really, really well in the first few. That one and then about seven, eight weeks off before the next one. Seems to be back end the year.
Q. That's what it was this year. Played like six events in an eight-week stretch.
DAVID HORSEY: Just trying to get LIV players playing I guess.
Q. This part of it, yeah, yeah, and I think they want a little bit more of the spotlight.
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah. Yeah.
Q. You never know. It's like all right, LIV season is over; let's focus on the Asian Tour.
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah. So hopefully that helps me. I'm not scheduled at all yet.
Q. It's cool. I think you'll have fun.
DAVID HORSEY: Yeah. Good headache to have. Too many places to play.
