Q. Fantastic round, 9-under par today. How would you assess the round?

CAM SMITH: Obviously pretty good. Made a lot of good putts that I didn't make yesterday. So that definitely helped a lot and definitely kind of, I think, freed up the shots into the green as well.

Q. Did you have a target score in mind when you started the day to try to catch the leaders?

CAM SMITH: I knew it was going to take a fair bit, just given how the course has been playing. It's pretty gettable out there with no wind.

Yeah, without thinking I was out of the golf tournament, I kind of was the way that Jaco has been playing golf. It's kind of a tough fate coming from five or six behind, so yeah.

Q. Did you know where you stood all day long out there on the course?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, just really trying to keep making birdies as much as we could. Like I said, I knew it was going to be kind of hard to chase him down, but you never know.
