DAVIS CUP FINALS

November 20, 2024

Gabriel Diallo

Team Canada

Press Conference

D. ALTMAIER/G. Diallo

7-6, 6-4

Team Germany - 1

Team Canada - 0

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. What's going through your mind right now? We can feel your disappointment after this match. What's on your mind?

GABRIEL DIALLO: Yeah, deception a little bit, anger, but it's the sport. Gonna try to analyze and move on. Got to recover quickly, because, you know, we still have two matches to go, and we're far from being over.

I wish I could have brought my team the point. They counted on me to deliver and I didn't deliver, so that's on me. I know that two other guys are going to deliver.

Q. Can you describe your emotions on court today? Can you describe the pressure that you might have been feeling today?

GABRIEL DIALLO: Yeah. I wasn't quite as maybe loose as I wanted. It was quite patchy. Some bits and pieces, moments where I was playing well; moments where I was a little bit more scrappy.

But sometimes that's how it goes. Sometimes the moment gets a little bit to you. Today in some moments it got to me, and I didn't manage to find my rhythm and find my strides to get a win.

Q. Is there something you'd like to change about your performance today, something you can pinpoint?

GABRIEL DIALLO: I mean, globally everything: my serve, returns, transition game, more solid from the back, everything. It's tough to pinpoint exactly one thing, but we'll watch the tape and make some adjustment.
