Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's start the press conference with Team Argentina. We will start with questions in English.

Q. A question for Fran. How does it feel to be with the team at this point in the season, to be back in this environment at such an important week?

FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO: Yeah, I mean, we are super happy to be here. For me and for Seb and Tommy, I think it's our first quarterfinals. I don't know for the doubles guys.

But, I mean, it's a good way to end the year. I think we all have a great year, so we were hoping to finish strong here, play our best tennis on Thursday, and try to advance as much as we can.

But, yeah, we are really excited to be here in Malaga.

Q. You are going to face Italy in the quarterfinals, obviously the reigning champions. What are you expecting from that tie?

FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO: Well, it's going to be a super difficult tie. They are the reigning champion. They have the No. 1 player in the world. A super complete team, solid team in all the aspects in singles and doubles.

It's going to be really tough for us, but I think it's a good challenge. We are a great team, also. We have great players. I think we're going to be prepared for Thursday and try to play our best tennis to try to beat Italy, for sure. But, I mean, I think it's going to be really tough, for sure.

Q. One for the captain. Good to see you in Malaga. Did you set up a special plan? Francisco Cerundolo said that the No. 1 was in the opposite team, so what is the plan to win against Jannik Sinner and his partners? And also, do you think that playing in a Spanish-speaking country might give you a little extra motivation or extra support from the crowd in front of Italy?

CAPTAIN GUILLERMO CORIA: (In Spanish.)

THE MODERATOR: I will try to translate the answer.

We will try to be ready to face against Italy. They were full of plenty of confidence with Jannik Sinner.

And regarding Nadal, it will be a very special week for the whole world of tennis because of Nadal's retirement.
