Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Nelly Korda after her third round here at Pelican. Nelly, just one stroke out of the lead. I know tough start to the day, but how did you turn it around?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I had a good middle of the round. Just played some solid golf on the back nine and started hitting my driver a little better.
Q. Obviously I saw that putt on the last. Just how slick are these greens, and how are you managing your distances?
NELLY KORDA: It's kind of hard when you don't really see. I think it was a little bit of poor planning by starting so late for us.
Whenever you're sitting on 18 and the sun is already down, I mean, it's never nice. And especially with how slick these greens are and you can't properly see, I mean, obviously two factors that go into that too. At the end of the day I'm the one that missed it, so yeah.
Q. You're rolling it really well, though. You've made a lot of solid putts this week. What are you finding on the greens with the Spider putter that's working so well?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I just feel really comfortable with it. That's about it, yeah.
Q. You have done a nice job this week it seems battling back into rounds after not the greatest starts.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah.
Q. What has gotten you back into rounds?
NELLY KORDA: Just knowing that there's more opportunities out there. That I can kind of capitalize on some of the holes. That maybe a little wedge in if I do hit it good off the tee. So stuff like that.
I mean, I've played with this golf course. This is my fourth year kind of. Yeah, it is. And I know the golf course now. I know I can bounce back even if I do make some mistakes on the harder holes.
Q. We talked the other day about the highs and lows of 2024. As you look at the year, do you feel it's been a great year?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah. I mean, I think I always try to look at the positives. I think overall I'm very happy with the way this year is, and it just makes me motivated for next year as well.
Q. There were a couple of lengthy putts at 8 and 9 that kind of got your round going.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah.
Q. Was there anything that you changed or tweaked a little bit?
NELLY KORDA: No, they just went into the cup, into the bottom of the hole. That's the only thing that changed.
Q. Did that change your confidence going into the back nine, though?
NELLY KORDA: I think it changes your momentum a little. Instead of being 2-over, you are back at even, and you have a fresh nine.
Q. Just how excited are you to contend for another title? I know it's so much fun for you every week.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it is. I do truly love it. I am going to go home, get a good night's rest, some food in my stomach, and hopefully give it my all tomorrow.
