Inalpi Arena,Torino
Press Conference
C. RUUD/A. Rublev
6-4, 5-7, 6-2
THE MODERATOR: Andrey, it's been a tough week, but how did it feel to be back at the ATP Finals for the fifth consecutive year?
ANDREY RUBLEV: It feels great. I mean, two weeks ago I would say that only to be here is more than enough. I guess I keep that in my head and be grateful for being here (smiling).
I played three good matches with the right mindset. We'll see. The most important lesson for me is to keep it for the next year, to be like that most of the time, of my time.
THE MODERATOR: First question.
Q. You entered the court and you knew you had to win two sets to love, maximum six games. Did you study something different tactically to try to do this? How do you explain the fact that you are 5-2 up with Casper in the head-to-head, but the only two losses were here in Turin?
ANDREY RUBLEV: 5-3 now.
Q. You don't like the surface? How do you explain it?
ANDREY RUBLEV: To be honest, I don't know because his favorite surface is clay, but three times I lost him only in Turin. If the rest, if it was clay or something else...
I don't know. I have the same question. More logically should be to lose on clay, but... I have no answer for this question, to be honest.
Q. For the first part?
ANDREY RUBLEV: I mean, I knew that I have to. On this surface, with the speed of the court, is impossible to win like that against a top player. I knew since the beginning.
I was going more to try to play full, to finish the year in a good way, with a good match. Try to win it anyway, which is still 200 points, which is good for the next year.
For me, was more about that when I was going on court.
