Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Albane Valenzuela after her third round here at Pelican Golf Club. You were putting together a really good round there. Two bogeys at the end; no worries. Just tell me about the day.
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Yeah, a lot of really positive stuff. I feel like I've been working really hard, especially after Asia. Was kind of a disappointing three-week stretch for me.
I put in a lot of work back home the last two weeks and feel like it's finally paying off. I saw some putts drop, which was really exciting and the part of my game that was missing.
Hitting way more fairways, which was also not good in Asia.
Overall very pleased. Obviously a little bit disappointed about the last two bogeys, but felt like I played really solid golf today.
Q. How do you stay positive after not your favorite finish I'm sure? How do you stay positive, look back and, realize you put together a really good round?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: I made a lot of birdies today and that's ultimately what I have to look at. Bogeys are going to happen. The greens are very sleek and definitely tricky out there. I feel like they got firmer and faster as the days went.
Some of those putts were just really tricky to read. Just accepting you're going to miss some. I made a lot today so I'm just going to look at that.
Q. 18 is a really hard hole it seems for everybody. How did you manage the round knowing 18 is going to be a tough one?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: There is a lot of tough holes out there. I mean, 2 is a really tough one that I can think of.
10 is also really very tricky green.
12 yesterday was downwind, was really tough.
There are a lot of the challenging holes on this golf course and 18 is definitely a challenge as well.
I had a putt that was just on the side and it's just so tricky it putt those sometimes on this course. Yeah, just a very good, demanding golf course.
Q. I know we were just talking about CME next week will be your first one. How excited are you for that and what are you doing this week to sort of the prepare for next?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Finally. That's what I got to say. I mean, it's taken a while to get there. I feel like that was also one of my big goals of this season. All right, I can't miss it anymore. I was 62nd or 63rd last year; definitely very disappointed.
I think once you get those slaps in the face you definitely don't want to experience it again. I made it a big goal of mine to go there, and I'm super excited.
