THE ANNIKA DRIVEN BY GAINBRIDGE AT PELICAN

November 14, 2024

Mi Hyang Lee

Belleair, Florida, USA

Pelican Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Mi Hyang Lee after her first round at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. Obviously really solid 5-under round. Can you just tell me a little bit about the day today?

MI HYANG LEE: So it was a little gust wind when I was warm up this morning, but my caddie told me winds will a little die down in the afternoon, so I need to be a little more patient the front nine.

And yeah, two bogey and two birdie. It was really good, like I think good up and down after make the bogey, No, 4 I think.

And also was simple the front nine, but so I didn't expect like 5-under today because I shoot only even par at the front nine.

My caddie was right. I mean, the winds a little die down and direction is a little different as well to the change. So it was a little easy to hit like with the helping with the long hole.

So that's a lot help me, too.

And my iron distance control was pretty good the back nine, so I have a lot of good birdie chance and I made it.

Q. Yeah, I was going to ask, what was the best part of your game? I heard that irons are important out here. What do you feel like the best part of your game was today?

MI HYANG LEE: For sure was my iron distance control was pretty good. Yeah, I mean greens are so tough and tricky, and so we have to be landing the right spot. If not, just balls go everywhere.

So trying to be landing at the -- when I just talk with my caddie, so I trying to. Yeah, it was good, yeah.

Q. I know that you're 59th on the Race to the CME Globe. I don't know if you knew that.

MI HYANG LEE: Yeah, I knew it.

Q. How big of a goal is it for you to get to be like even more inside the top 60?

MI HYANG LEE: I know. I really want to make the CME for sure. But just my dad told me no pressure. Just enjoy the game, and then if I can make CME that would be great. If not, still I have a good season this year. Like all of the year where I was really great was like 9th the CME point, but a little drop down to 59 now.

Still, happy to be back on Tour. Also just happy to play with another great players as well. Yeah, hopefully can make it, but if not, still fine. Maybe next year.
