DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

November 14, 2024

Adam Scott

Dubai, UAE

Jumeirah Golf Estates, Earth Course

Quick Quotes

Q. You've opened your account with a 3-under par round of 69. Give us your verdict on that one?

ADAM SCOTT: It all felt pretty solid, really. Lucky the wind is not blowing, and the rough is tough. A couple times you go in it, you're not sure really how to recover. But I felt like I wasn't in it too much, and most of the day was fairly solid stuff.

Q. Your only other performance at The DP World Tour Championship back in 2009, so 15 years ago. The course is much different to the way you remember it, yeah?

ADAM SCOTT: I can't remember that long ago.

Q. You said the rough, and also the pin positions difficult?

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, I think the greens are just a bit tricky. They are 15, 20 years old now and there's a bit of grain going on with the slope. I find the change of pace from green to green, depending on where the pin is, tricky to judge. So you have to keep your wits about you on the greens this year.

Q. 44th in the World Rankings at the start of the year and 20th now. What's been behind the rise?

ADAM SCOTT: I had a good run through the summer. Kind of found the confidence again and managed to string some good weeks together. Got a bit closer to winning a tournament again. It's been feeling good and it feels good again this week. So it's a good, solid start on a pretty tough course. Hopefully I've got three more in me.
