Quick Quotes
Q. No stranger to the challenge of this week and the season-ending finale. How much are you looking forward to the DP World Tour Championship?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, final event of the season. I think whoever you are, I think making it to this tournament is a goal at the start of the year.
Yeah, ever since 2013, I've managed to make it to this point which is something I'm proud of, and yeah, hopefully I can find myself come Sunday with a chance to win.
I think just being age to get to this point of the year, it's obviously been a long season for everybody. But if you can be playing well and you can find yourself with a chance in the last event of the season, it's a great feeling.
Q. Where do you feel your game is right now?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Played very well. Been playing very consistently, very solid.
So yeah, I'm happy with it. The practise that I've been doing, the preparation, and then I think the results have been good. So yeah, I can't complain too much. I just want to push on for a week longer.
Q. What would a win this week here mean to you?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It would mean a lot. I think basing ourselves here these days, I think there's going to be -- well, hopefully, a lot of familiar faces out there watching. I think this tournament is up there with a handful of Flagship Events of our tour, very important events. I've always loved this trophy and always wanted to hold it, and I never quite got there yet.
So yeah, it would mean a lot.
Q. Talk Rory McIlroy, if you don't mind. Fantastic year, obviously, again. In a position to win a sixth Race to Dubai title. How would you describe his season overall?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I think Rory has had a great year. Of course, I think it's easy for everyone to look at what could have happened if things go a little different way. But at the same time, you only get to talk about those things if he is consistently up there with a chance of winning week-in, week-out.
He's shown amazing consistency: So close to winning a major; so close to winning a bunch of events while winning a few at the same time. You know, it's obviously not over yet but he's in with a very good chance and he has a chance of winning another Race to Dubai title.
Of course, Rory is held to a higher standard than pretty much everybody else in the world of golf. But I think he's shown amazing golf again this year, and he's shown why he's one of the best to ever do it.
Q. Bob MacIntyre, winning both sides of the Atlantic and 16th in the world. He's had a great year as well, hasn't he?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Bob has had a fantastic year. Winning on the PGA TOUR, I think that him winning his home event there must have been such a special feeling, and I think that run he had in the summer, how amazing to golf when it goes like that. He played so well, and he managed to accomplish such amazing things.
Again, Bob has gone from strength-to-strength, and I think it's been great to see. Another one of those players that obviously keeps you motivated to keep trying to improve and compete with all these guys.
