LOTTE CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY HOAKALEI

November 8, 2024

Jin Young Ko

Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, USA

Hoakalei Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Jin Young Ko. Jin Young, nice way to close out this moving day. Just take me through that last one there on 18.

JIN YOUNG KO: Yeah, I mean, I haven't made the putt, especially left-to-right putt like last three days, but I first made -- the putt was left-to-right so I'm very happy to finish make birdie on 18.

And, yeah, solid round I had.

Q. What were some of the differences between the nines today? You had more birdies on the back nine today.

JIN YOUNG KO: I don't know. I just trying to focus myself. I focus very well today on the front nine especially. I don't know what was the difference than last couple days.

Yeah, today was good day.

Q. Aside from the birdie on 18, which other one sticks out to you?

JIN YOUNG KO: Well, I mean, I was hitting to the bunker from the tee shot and I laid up, but it was rough, so I thought, okay, par is good this hole and let's make a par and finish a par, but I made birdie so it's bonus.

Q. Definitely a bonus. What was the mindset going into this moving day?

JIN YOUNG KO: Well, I just saying stop breeze (?) When I'm eating the breakfast at the clubhouse was big rain so I was like oh, my God it's going to be stop or not. Before I start practice it is gone.

Hopefully I said I thank God. Okay, no more rain in Hawai'i until tomorrow I said.

Q. We've seen some pretty low rounds here before at Hoakalei. What will it take for you to card another good one tomorrow?

JIN YOUNG KO: I mean, this golf course is like everyone can make a lot of birdies this course, so I don't want to like let me go. Like just trying to do my better than last couple days and just trying to be better.

I don't care about the result. I just want to make good swing, good putt. If go in or if not go in, it's okay. If I try my best 100% one shot at a time it's okay; I can accept everything.

But if I couldn't focus very well and if I could made up my result, it's going to be mad to me. So I don't want to make regret tomorrow and just have fun tomorrow and I will leave to Texas.
