Quick Quotes

Q. It's is never east to back up a super lower low round. That was a challenge today. How well did you do that?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I mean, 4-under is a pretty good round. It was a bit hit-and-miss at times. Had a few chances that I would have holed yesterday having a really low round. Overall it was a pretty good round. I'm a bit tired. Not used to playing 18 in the heat coming back early morning. So it's not really any excuse but I've got to get used to that again.

Yeah, overall, it was fine. It was pretty good. You know, there's obviously low scores out there but at the same time, if you just stay patient and you don't know if 4-under is going to be the worst score of the week. It's never going to be a bad round but there's a lot of scores out there. Overall I can't be displeased with where I'm at.

Q. When you look at your position and the way you're playing, what's the excitement heading into the weekend, a huge weekend here in Abu Dhabi?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I want to rest first. I'm very much looking forward to it. This is an amazing time of year. Two great events to finish. I think I've been both end of the spectrum, really, over the years. I've been playing at this time of year and playing really poorly, and you kind of your getting through the end of the year but I've also been playing great and been really excited about the opportunities that are right there at the end of the year.

I'm in a good spot. I'll just rest up now, focus on tomorrow and hopefully we can have another good one and then go out and see where we sit on Sunday. But I love this time of year and it's nice to be up there again.

Q. Happy memories in Abu Dhabi. Just a quick word, yesterday in particular, the conversations about the putter.

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Exciting and fresh to start something new. Like the work. The work that we did with TaylorMade, like the thought process and then the design process. It's been great. It's been great practising with something new and something that feels really, really good. Something that I feel like is mine, if you like, and having that input in the design and yesterday was an unbelievably opener for it. Couldn't have really gotten any better.

I'm grateful to all the guys that I work with and always trying to find something that can give you even just the slight edge, and so far, so good. I love putting with it and, it's just nice when you put something new in, obviously haven't played a tournament with yet.

It's felt great in practise, and to ut it in competition and hit so many good putts, and even today, makeable putts I had, I felt like I hit good putts. You're not going to hole all of them. Just doesn't happen. But my pace has been really good. Hit a lot of good putts, so yeah, looking forward to the challenge over the weekend.
