Jiyai Shin

Omitama, Ibaraki, Japan

Taihelyo Club Minori Course

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Jiyai after her second round. You played this tournament I think more than anybody else in this field. What do you love most about this event?

JIYAI SHIN: It is true? That means I'm the oldest.

Q. Well, no, I didn't say that.

JIYAI SHIN: Make me feel old.

Q. No, most experienced.

JIYAI SHIN: Most experienced, okay.

Q. What do you love about this event and especially this golf course when it's played here?

JIYAI SHIN: Well, you can see how much the Japanese fans waiting for this tournament. And then even also the sponsors, they bring the hospitality for this week.

So it feels like do you know we call in Japanese matsuri. That means it's festival. I think I can feeling big festival with this tournament, which is everyone waiting for this moment, and even also we enjoying.

Q. And what about this golf course that you really like?

JIYAI SHIN: Well, actually hard to see in the fairway to the greenside, so we need like great image of the green and playing. We need good course management for this course.

And then I'm not a long hitter so I can't make the any -- I can't make the two with the par-5. But this, the green you can see how elevation a so tough, so we need to think smart.

Q. That is what I have heard.

JIYAI SHIN: Yes.

Q. From the times you've played this event, what are your best memories of playing here?

JIYAI SHIN: Well, I won already two times this tournament, so every time when I coming to here, well, like at the party they showing the past champions and I can see how much I look different. (Laughter.)

Yeah, so that much I have a lot of experience with this tournament.

And then very hard to say the best -- hard to pick best one. Every time it comes new best memory coming every year.

Q. Last question: 4-under today. How is your game feeling? Just how would you describe your season so far this season?

JIYAI SHIN: I think 4-under is not that bad but you can see how much big score out there, so it feels like still a little bad.

But I playing pretty solid today. We still have 36 hole next two days. My shot is good so I keep making the good chance. Maybe I'm go to the more putting practice, make I can make the more birdies.
