Q. Jose, what does it mean to you to come in and see your name in the lineup knowing that you're starting in your first World Series game?
JOSE TREVINO: It's exciting. It sounds very cliche of me, but it's a young kid's dream. I was just talking to Zillo outside, man, and being able to put on this uniform and perform in a World Series game, this is every kid's dream come true.
Q. Watching you and Austin all season, you guys seem to share a tight bond in good times and struggling. How do you benefit each other, help each other, all that stuff?
JOSE TREVINO: I think it's just we want to see each other do well no matter what. I know sometimes people might say this and that, but we really strive for each other. We want each other to do well, especially now. We want to win. It's all about winning. It's always been about winning with me and him, whether it's him in the lineup or me in the lineup.
If I ask him for what he has on them or he asks me what I have on them, it's coming from the heart. It's coming because we want to win.
Q. I saw you out there on the field early. Just what's going through your mind as you're preparing? Are you thinking about the moment?
JOSE TREVINO: No, I do that pretty much every day all the time. For me, it's not going to be any different for me. Any time I get to put on this uniform, wear the pinstripes in front of this crowd, I'm going to give you everything I have. I'm going to put my heart out there. I'm going to give you everything I have no matter what every time I put on this jersey.
Q. How have you seen Clarke Schmidt mature in the last couple years?
JOSE TREVINO: Clarke has taken tremendous strides in the past few years, from catching him in '22 until now. He's really matured as a premium starting pitcher. I think he's done a great job in his prep work, how he handles his body.
I feel like his pitch arsenal, he's been upping -- every single time I catch him, I feel like he gets better command of this pitch or that pitch. It's an exciting time for him. I'm super pumped for him tonight.
Q. In the few years since PitchCom has been put in, have they improved the volume in games like these where the crowd is just buzzing the whole time? It's not an issue trying to hear each other?
JOSE TREVINO: I think they have ear plugs too that you can put an ear piece in. But I think PitchCom has done great. It's been just fine.
Q. What kind of challenges do the Dodgers present from a base stealing standpoint?
JOSE TREVINO: They're a good team. They run the bases well. They like to go get the 90 feet. I feel like we're just going to keep making pitches, do what we have to do. Pitchers are doing a good job.
Obviously Austin had a good throw last night or the night before. We'll just keep going that way.
Q. Trevino, congratulations on making it to the World Series. You guys are 0-2. You guys need to win tonight to be able to come back tomorrow and tie this series at home. What is the conversation that's going on in the clubhouse between you guys to how to face this tonight?
JOSE TREVINO: That's a good question. I always said, if there's a team that can take a gut punch, it's this team right here in this clubhouse. We're excited for the opportunity. We're not -- it's not over, and everybody knows that. Everybody knows what we're capable of, and we know what they're capable of.
We're going to come out today. We know our fans are going to be behind us. There's a reason why this is the best stadium in the world, and hopefully tonight the fans can show them.
