Q. How much just kind of refocusing do you guys have to do after the emotional high of last night, just getting locked back in for today?
WILL SMITH: Obviously last night was awesome. Super emotional and all that, super exciting. Yeah, we'll be locked in today. Guys showed up ready to go, getting their work in, getting prepared. We'll be ready for Game 2.
Q. When Yamamoto's been good this postseason versus times where he's struggled, what has been the difference you've seen from him when he is at his best?
WILL SMITH: Just his execution, putting the ball where he wants, getting ahead of guys and then putting guys away. Just normal pitching stuff honestly.
He's obviously really good at pitching, but when he goes out and executes, it's really good stuff.
Q. With the win last night, are you so energized and filled with adrenaline that it's hard to fall asleep, or are you exhausted and hit the pillow right away?
WILL SMITH: Luckily it's a 5:00 game, so you get home at a decent hour. A couple hours to wind down, chill, hang with the family. I slept fine last night.
Q. Just how much of a whirlwind has this week been for you with everything going on off the field and having a new kid at home? What's this week been like?
WILL SMITH: Yeah, it's been a week, a great week. Playing the World Series, having our daughter. She timed it perfectly when she came, so I got to spend a couple days home just being dad.
I was able to prepare just as much for the World Series as any other series. Felt ready to go yesterday and ready to go again today.
Q. Are you getting much sleep at home right now?
WILL SMITH: Yes, yeah, I'm getting a full night's sleep.
Q. Obviously we know you've kind of been grinding at the plate over the last couple months, but do you feel like you're getting a little bit closer? Obviously you've had a couple big hits here in October.
WILL SMITH: Yeah, you always feel one swing away from finding it. But this is the playoffs. They know how to exploit our weaknesses, so whatever weakness I have is magnified right now.
I'm just going up there and competing, doing what's asked of me in that moment, and going up there with whatever swing I have that day. So just continue to work before the games, continue to work with the hitting coaches. I feel decent in the box, good enough to go out there and help the team win.
