MAYBANK CHAMPIONSHIP

October 24, 2024

Amy Yang

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club

TV

Q. You like it hot, don't you? You like these temperatures. Three-time winner at the Honda LPGA. What is it about this heat that you play so well?

AMY YANG: I personally prefer warmer weather than cold. Maybe that's why. My body feels more loose out there. Just enjoy being out here.

Q. You certainly did with that number of birdies on the scorecard. Are you carrying your own yardage book or do you still have your caddie do all the numbers?

AMY YANG: He does all the numbers and just put pin positions on it so I can have clear shot what to hit, what to look for.

Q. A major champion and also won the CME Group Tour Championship last year. What has been so good about your game over the last 12 months?

AMY YANG: I want to say, yeah, definitely we worked on some technical stuff with my coach, Tony, and caddie, Jan, but also, improve a lot of my mental game with Paul.

Q. Yeah. So the mental game. Do you have a mantra you say to yourself?

AMY YANG: Yeah, I just try to stay in focus. You know, when you're out there a lot of doubts are going on. Just try to focus, stay, enjoy, do my best.

Q. You also have one the most rhythmical swings on Tour. Where does that tempo come from?

AMY YANG: I don't know. I think I learned that long time ago, like beginning of my golf as a child. I think I met a good coach.
