Q. What kind of battle was it out there for you and the team today?

KYLE LARSON: It was a very tough battle. Just, yeah, a bit of a fight all day. First races of each round have not been easy.

Proud to get what we could out of the day. The end of the first stage didn't work out for us. We had to repair whatever was stuck in our nose. Overcame that much quicker than I thought I would. Was happy with where I was running before the green-flag cycle. Thought we would probably finish that stage in third or fourth. Then our pit stop was super messy. Yeah, that was a bummer.

But we were able to fight to stay one lap down, then fight to get in that Lucky Dog position, get back to the lead lap. Yeah, just wasn't quite great there the last few runs. We made the most of it, so could have been a lot worse.
