Quick Quotes
Q. Kurt, in with 65. Probably happy to be finished I would say.
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, definitely.
Q. What was special about that round? Bogey-free, but you had a nice stretch of birdies on the...
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, stayed patient all day because I felt like I had some good looks early that weren't falling. Hit the lip on a couple, and then finally kind of got it going with the birdie on 9, 10, 11.
And then, yeah, for the most part just solid all day.
Q. Nice to finally play with not too much wind?
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, definitely.
Q. What do you look forward to tomorrow the most? You've played here a lot. You understand this golf course, and it looks like it's going to be a perfect day tomorrow.
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, much the same. Just keep giving myself as many looks as I can and hopefully get a lot to fall.
Q. Kurt, obviously Doug and JT right now with the numbers to beat. They have to get up tomorrow morning and finish off their third round; you, however, can focus on the final round tomorrow. How big of an advantage is that for you?
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, I think it's nice knowing that I can sleep in a little bit and not have to wake up, finish a hole, and wait around for however long it's going to be.
So that's going to be nice to get a full night's rest. You know, got third round done and just focus for tomorrow.
Q. Obviously you went the first eight holes of your round today without any birdies, and then the birdie came on 9. How do you stay patient to that point without pushing too much?
KURT KITAYAMA: I just told myself I was hitting good putts. Just burned edges. If I keep giving myself good looks they're going to fall. That's how I went through that round.
Q. When you made that birdie on 9, did you feel like it was on, like something clicked and you're ready to make a tear?
KURT KITAYAMA: It's nice to see a putt fall from outside three feet. Just used that and gained momentum there.
