Zac Blair

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

TPC Summerlin

Quick Quotes

Q. Zac, you finished at 3-under, which is right on the cut line, bubbling right now. You'll definitely make it. Standing on that last hole, the par-5 in that position, knowing that you needed to at least make a par or better and playing it the way you did, how was that feeling when you got up to the green? You had that 13-footer.

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, you know, kind of just pushed one barely off the tee in the right rough and thought it was kind of a lie that could jump a little bit, so decided to just try and get it way up there.

Just came out really, really kind of slow and up in the air. Obviously that was kind of the one bunker that you couldn't hit it in.

Then on the next one kind of was like, all right, as long as we don't plug it that that bunker should probably get a decent look at it. Then it plugged in that bunker, so made a bit of a mess of it.

Just I played pretty solid all day and told myself to hit a good putt and made it.

Q. Was it on your mind during the last nine holes...

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, for sure.

Q. What's it like when it's bouncing around and you're thinking about it? You see leaderboards out there; you get an idea of what it's going to be.

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, for me, kind of that 115, 120 number, every cut is pretty important. I've had a few close ones. Close in Jackson; kind of barely made it in Utah.

Been on both sides of it. Obviously on your mind coming down the last few holes, so just glad I made the putt.

Q. You mentioned that 115 to like 125 is important in the fall.

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah.

Q. Knowing that, when you come to tournaments, what is your mindset? Do you still come and feel like you can win and that's your mindset, or do you feel like, I just want to have a good performance and see where it falls?

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, you're always coming hoping that you have your best stuff and you go out and win, but obviously started a little slow yesterday and then you're kind of right on that, all right, just play solid, make the cut, maybe get into contention on the weekend if you go have a couple good rounds.

Yeah, always coming anything that you got a chance.

Q. Finally, you mentioned being in contention. Now that you made the cut and you know you're going to go out this afternoon, play, may not finish, and then have to do it all again on Sunday, but the weather is going to die down a bit and there will be a lot of the birdies out there.

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah.

Q. Do you just stay really, really aggressive now?

ZAC BLAIR: Just I guess go see how the course is playing. Obviously they're going to roll and cut greens I think and they'll be a little faster. They're getting somewhat firm, but they were pretty slow the first couple days with the wind obviously.

Yeah, I don't know exactly what the numbers are, but you go have a couple good rounds you kind of jump up a long ways. It's pretty bunched up. Going into today was pretty bunched up besides couple of the guys at the top.

Q. Last one. Coming out of the scoring area after you signed your card, what's that feeling like given you're on the number?

ZAC BLAIR: A lot better being on that side of it. I knew that 2 had an outside chance, but with 9 being a pretty easy par-5, the wind is blowing, so I knew 2 had a chance and that was at least kind of the silver lining of it.

Just go hit a good putt. If it goes in, great. Maybe 2 has a chance if it doesn't go in.
